Michaela Wilson
Hello! My name is Michaela, and I’m a third-year law student at DePaul University’s College of Law. For my undergraduate studies, I attended DePaul University and graduated in 2025 with a B.A. in Journalism. I was born and raised in Bartlett, Illinois, where I discovered my passion for reporting.
Throughout all four years of high school, I was in BEACON Academy, a broadcasting and film academy, where I anchored both our magazine and news shows. It was there where I found a love for being in front of the screen. During those years, I also carried with me an interest in the legal field.
Transitioning into college, I knew that I wanted to incorporate my two fields of interest into a future career. I applied for DePaul’s BA/JD 3+3 program and was able to explore both law and journalism in my higher education. I became both an anchor and reporter for Good Day DePaul, reporting on a wide variety of topics, from Chicago’s migrant crisis to DePaul University’s Israel-Palestine encampment. During those years, I was also a writer for Chicago Star Media.
After graduating with my Juris Doctorate in the coming year, I hope to start my legal career in civil rights litigation. With my strong interest in Constitutional law and civil rights advocacy, I aspire to combine both my legal and journalism experience into a career of investigative and legal reporting.
